1. Eden was born on Dec. 26, 1991 in Los Angeles.

2. She’s a Capricorn!

3. Both her first and middle names are Hebrew! Eden, as in “The Garden of,” means “pleasure” or “delight.” Rebecca, coming from the Hebrew Rivka, means “join” or “tie.”

4. She was raised by a single mom. Swipe through the carousel below to see Eden’s mom’s iconic Rosh Hashanah message.

5. According to IMDb, she’s of Austrian Jewish, Russian Jewish and Greek Jewish descent.

6. Eden was, essentially, discovered by Jay Leno. The then-host of “The Tonight Show” came to Eden’s elementary school to film a few of his “Jay-Walking” segments with the kids. Eden’s portions of those segments were so successful that a “Tonight Show” producer then asked her mom if Eden wanted to her own segment on “The Tonight Show.” Afterwards, Eden got an agent.

She talks about that experience on this episode of Christy Carlson Romano’s podcast, about 10 minutes in:

7. Eden did commercials as a teenager, including one for “Fruity Pebbles.” (Sadly, Eden has shared that she’s tried to find footage of it and cannot.)

8. She had small roles on “Weeds,” “The O.C.,” “Sons & Daughters,” “Jane the Virgin” and “How I Met Your Father.”

9. Eden had to audition seven times to secure the role of Sue Heck on “The Middle.” We’ll let her tell the “crazy” experience for herself:

10. Eden has compared her experience getting cast on “The Middle,” filming the pilot, having the pilot be picked up for 13 episodes and then the show getting picked up for a full season to the Passover prayer “Dayenu.”

“I don’t know if you’ve ever gone to seder for Passover, but there’s a song called ‘Dayenu,’” Eden explained in an interview. “You sing over and over again, like, ‘If this happened [to the Jews in Egypt], that would have been enough.’ I’m in a perpetual state of ‘that would be enough.’ I would love to do more, but that would be enough.

11. Eden married her now-husband screenwriter Nick Cron-Devico on July 12, 2020.

12. The couple have a pair of identical twin daughters. They were born in 2021.

13. Eden has publicly discussed the challenges she faced during and after her pregnancy. Specifically, being pregnant and having bipolar disorder, giving birth to her twins at 27 weeks and her struggle with postpartum depression.

14. What were her daughters reactions to seeing “The Middle” for the first time? Well, first of all, hilarious. And second, you can see it for yourselves!

15. Eden has pretty clear boundaries when it comes to being called Sue Heck in real life:

16. After the end of “The Middle,” there was briefly a Sue Heck spinoff show in the works called “Sue Sue in the City.” Unfortunately, the show was not picked up for a full series.

17. Eden and fellow “The Middle” actor Brock Ciarlelli’s have a recap podcast called “Middling.” In the first episode, the pair interview “Middle” star Patricia Heaton and talk about when they learned that “Sue Sue in the City” would not be picked up.

18. Eden debuted a solo show entitled “I Was on a Sitcom” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, and has been touring it ever since.
