If you’ve been online at any point during summer 2026, you’ve likely heard at least these lyrics — if not the entirety of the earworm that is Stella Lefty’s song “Boston.” And that’s likely not the last you’ll hear from the up-and-coming Jewish singer-songwriter.
So here are 18 things to know about Stella Lefty.
1. Stella was born on Aug. 13, 2002.

2. She’s a Leo!
3. Her parents are businessman Eric Lefkofsky and philanthropist Elizabeth Kramer Lefkofsky. Her father co-founded Groupon as well as companies Tempus AI and Mediaocean. Her mother is the president of the Lefkofsky Family Foundation, a non-profit which advances education, the arts, human rights and medical research in the communities it works with.
4. Stella’s maternal grandmother Susan Netchin Kramer founded the American Brain Tumor Association in 1973. She did this after her daughter (Stella’s aunt) Stephanie was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 5. Sadly, Stephanie passed away about two years later. 5. Stella started writing songs when she was 5 years old.
6. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs and attended New Trier High School. Stella then went on to study public health at Tulane University. She graduated from Tulane in 2024.
7. She got her start in the music industry by posting videos of herself singing on TikTok.
8. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood and Keith Whitley have all inspired Stella’s songwriting.
“Miley and Taylor were the first people that made me fall in love with music and writing,” she told Elite Daily.
9. She moved to Los Angeles in 2024 to pursue a career in the music industry.
10. “There was this period where I moved to L.A. where I was grinding, and nothing was happening, which, you know, happens,” Stella told Variety. “Every video I’d post would get, like, fucking one view, so I think it’s crazy to see what happened from those TikToks and how this has all played out. It’s also just so refreshing for me because I feel like I was getting so bogged down by where I was at before. I feel like I’ve circled around in terms of the sound and where everything is at, to a place that I feel really good about.”
11. Her first EP “Tragic, Really” came out in 2025.
12. Her song “The Kill” is featured in the movie “Scream 7.”
13. Stella wrote the chorus to “Boston” and posted a clip to TikTok where the snippet became a viral hit.

14. “The whole thing started because I agreed to go on a writing trip in Nashville, where a boy I had a crush on lived,” Stella told Elite Daily. “I had 15 minutes before he was picking me up, so I was sitting at the piano and wrote the chorus. I posted it on my TikTok account, not thinking anything of it.”
15. Stella is now dating the guy the song is about: singer-songwriter Vincent Mason. The pair even sang together during Stella’s set at Lollapalooza 2026.

16. Fellow Jewish singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has a writing credit on “Boston.” This came about after Noah’s reps reached out to Stella to say that “Boston” sounded similar to “Stick Season.”
“When I was writing the song, I wasn’t thinking about Noah Kahan,” Stella told Vanity Fair. “I was literally thinking about nothing at all.” Still, she gave him a writing credit to avoid legal action. “I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes, so I’m like, if this sounds like that, whatever, all good.”
17. Her debut album “Long Way Home” came out on Aug. 21, 2026.
