New “Nobody Wants This” season two guest stars just dropped!
Variety reported today that Jewish actors Seth Rogen and Kate Berlant will appear in episodes of “Nobody Wants This” in season two. Rogen and Berlant join Leighton Meester, Arian Moayed, Alex Karpovsky and Miles Fowler as guest stars this season. More Jews acting in “Nobody Wants This”? Baruch Hashem!
As of yet, it’s unclear what roles “The Studio” Emmy winner and “A League of Their Own” actress will play in the Hot Rabbi Netflix show. At the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, however, Variety’s Marc Malkin happened to interview Seth Rogen and Adam Brody together. He asked Rogen if he would ever play a rabbi on “Nobody Wants This.”
“Maybe,” Rogen laughed. “Not to say I’m typecast, but if the shoe fits.”
Malkin clarified today that he had no idea Seth Rogen would be on “Nobody Wants This” during the interview. But based on Rogen’s reaction, it feels like we could be saying hello to Rabbi Seth this season!
It also seems that Rogen and Berlant’s characters will directly interact. “[Seth] and Kate Berlant’s energy together was a dream,” co-showrunner Jenni Konner said in Netflix’s press release. “When you get brilliant people to come in, it makes your writing and the show better.”
“If we got lucky with our main cast, we got just as lucky with our guest stars,” show creator Erin Foster added.
If we’re getting Rabbi Seth can we please, please, please also be getting quirky cantor Kate? Though, to be honest, we’d be happy to watch these two hilarious Jews do anything on “Nobody Wants This.”
Season two of “Nobody Wants This” drops on Netflix on Oct. 23.
