Welcome to Hey Alma’s 2024 Camp Week! Whether you were a lifer or have never been, Hey Alma wants to celebrate the unique experience that is Jewish summer camp. All week long, we’re going to be sharing personal essays, pop culture moments and great memes that encapsulate Jewish summer camp. As part of that, we’re launching our inaugural Most Embarrassing Jewish Summer Camp Story Contest!
Here’s the deal: Fill out this Google form with your most embarrassing summer camp story by 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 8. If you didn’t go to summer camp but still managed to embarrass yourself in a particularly Jewish way over the summer, we’ll take that too. (We ask that you share your name with us in the form, but you can request to keep your story anonymous if we choose to share it.) The Hey Alma team will then read through your submissions and select our favorites. The person who submits the story we deem as the most cringeworthy will win a one-of-a-kind Winner of the Hey Alma Most Embarrassing Camp Story Contest t-shirt and all the glory that comes along with it! We’ll share the winner and our other favorite embarrassing stories this Friday, Aug. 9.
