There is no one who could ever replace Amy Winehouse (z”l). Her smoky, soulful voice, compelling songwriting and gritty personality were one-of-a-kind.
But since breaking through in 2025, the extremely talented Sienna Spiro has often drawn comparisons to Amy. The 20-year-old British singer-songwriter pairs a powerful, warm and raspy voice with a ’60s-inspired sensibility, including thick eyeliner and a small beehive. Like Amy, Sienna is also Jewish.

1. Sienna was born on September 28, 2005 in London.

3. Sienna has “been singing since I could talk, like doing nursery rhymes.”
“When I was super young, Frank Sinatra, Nina [Simone], Etta James, Dinah Washington, Barbara Streisand, Al Green — all the greats were played in my house,” she told Interview Magazine.
4. Her father Glen is a master jeweler. Meanwhile, her mother Arabella works for Tikva UK, a nonprofit that supports orphaned Jewish children in Ukraine, Romania and Israel.
5. A self-described “emotional child,” Sienna wrote her first song at age 10.
6. She briefly attended East London Arts & Music school before dropping out at age 16. Sienna now describes her reason for dropping out as “foolish,” but says it worked out in the end.

“They’re such a blessing and a curse,” she explained to Rolling Stone. “I love the texture they give my voice, and sometimes they stop your voice from doing something, which I actually think sounds good. But I was nearly mute for a year — like, I barely spoke the year before last. It was really tricky. Very isolating.”

“David Attenborough is my childhood hero, ‘Nature Boy’ is one of my favourite songs ever and the Royal Albert Hall my dream venue,” she told The Telegraph. “So when I got the email asking if I might like to do it, I spat my water out. I just couldn’t believe it.”
14. She’s been nominated for a Brit Award and two American Music Awards.

“A challenge, I think, for the last year, I really was feeling like I had to make up for myself. I didn’t think who I was, you know, what my identity was, was enough. So I kept trying to be cooler than I was. Like, a north-west London Jewish girl who sings jazz, you know?” She said in an interview with Vevo DSCVR. “I sat with myself for awhile and went back to why I started doing music and why I care about it in the first place.”
16. She’s a bit intimidated by comparisons to Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Ray. (Note: Sienna has also been compared to Adele and Nancy Sinatra.)
“No one will ever be those artists. They are completely, uniquely themselves. Not me, not the next person will ever be like them,” Sienna told Entertainment Tonight. “I think even to be mentioned in the same sentence as them is an honor and something that scares me a bit.”
