Barbra Streisand Is Publishing a Memoir. Jews on Twitter Are Pretty Excited.

We can't wait to read all 1,040 pages of "My Name Is Barbra."

Pals, something incredible is coming and I’m not talking about the Messiah. Today, Penguin Random House announced that Barbra Streisand’s long-awaited memoir is finally slated for publication on November 7, 2023!!!

Babs’ autobiography has unofficially been in the works since 1984 (when Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who was an editor at Doubleday in her later life, asked to edit Streisands’ memoir). In 2015, Viking Press bought the book and teased that it would be published in 2017. Clearly, that did not come to pass and all Barbra fans (read: Jews) have been in limbo ever since.

All that to say: Today’s announcement has given a lot of people pretty big feelings and some have chosen to express themselves with some very funny tweets.

Here are some of our favorites:

1. This was our initial reaction too!!

2. Fran is all of us right now.

3. Mandy Patinkin is #1, no question.

4. The Jewish matriarchs are actually: Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Leah AND Barbra.

5. Mother? Sorry… mother? Sorry…

6. We’re still not over “The Funny Girl” drama, but this kinda helps.

7. How did Barbra know what our faces will look like when we read her book?

8. Gut Yontiff!

9. “In a time when the world of study belonged only to men, there lived a girl called Barbra…”

10. My Name Is Barbra (Barbra’s Version).
