Hey Alma Is Hosting a Comedy Show in Chicago!

"The Bean's Adult B-Mitzvah" will be held at Color Club Tavern on Oct. 18.

Did you know Chicago’s world-famous Bean is Jewish? (The sculpture was created by Jewish artist Sir Anish Kapoor. Therefore, it is Jewish.) Mazel tov, The Bean! Windy City: let’s celebrate!

Join Hey Alma, your favorite feminist Jewish culture site, for “The Bean’s Adult B-Mitzvah” — our first ever show on the road! It’ll be an evening of Jewy stand-up comedy with Eunji Kim (Cards Against Humanity), Clara Olshansky (Reductress), Michael Abber (New York Comedy Festival), and Becca Nix Tham (iO Theater), hosted by Hey Alma’s Evelyn Frick.

The show will be held at The Color Club Tavern (4146 N Elston Ave., Chicago, IL) on Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. CT. All ages are welcome, though the comedy likely won’t be appropriate for anyone under b-mitzvah age. Unlike previous Hey Alma comedy shows, “The Bean’s Adult B-Mitzvah” will not be available for livestream — so if you’re not already in Chicago, book your travel now!

Masks are encouraged, but not required.

A Humble Request:
Hey Alma's content is free because we believe everybody deserves to be a part of our radically inclusive Jewish community. Reader donations help us do that. Will you give what you can to keep Hey Alma open to all? (It's a mitzvah, ya know.)

See you there, besties!!
