Kai Schreiber is booked and busy!
The 16-year-old trans Jewish model, daughter of actors Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, walked several runways at New York Fashion Week last week. This included opening designer Jason Wu’s Spring 2026 show, modeling his Robert Rauschenberg-inspired collection “COLLAGE;” for which her mom was in attendance in the audience. In the modeling world, the opening and closing positions in a runway show are considered to be the most significant.
In addition to Wu’s collection, Kai also walked the runway for Altuzarra, COS and Jewish designers Calvin Klein and Michael Kors.
Kai’s NYFW schedule would be impressive for any model, but it’s doubly awe-inspiring given that she just launched her modeling career this year. Her first gig in the fashion industry was a Valentino photoshoot in February of this year. Then, she made her runway debut walking for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week in March. Since, she’s graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar France and walked for Celine at Paris Couture Week in July.
“I want to be a supermodel. Period,” Kai told Interview Magazine earlier this summer. “I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film. Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it. I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn.”
Well, mazel tov, Kai! It seems that you are more than well on your way to becoming the supermodel and grown up, glamorous woman you’ve always dreamed of.
