Do you feel that? That slight shift in the air. It’s not just the crisp chill marking the transition from summer to autumn (or the first warm gasps of spring if you’re in the southern hemisphere). It’s not just the urge to buy a ton of gourds to decorate your house with. It’s the subtle, exciting and slightly nerve-wracking feeling that Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are almost here.
Whether you plan to go to synagogue, listen to the shofar, dip apples in honey or fast, or are just now realizing, “Oh, the High Holidays are coming up again,” this is a moment that’s full of possibility. We have the chance to account for who we’ve been and who we’re becoming — to reset and process our emotions, heal from the past and consider what’s on our hearts. This year, let’s challenge ourselves to do just that, together.
Introducing: Hey Alma’s Days of Awe Journal.
In this journal, you’ll find journaling prompts for each of the 10 Days of Awe. We recommend grabbing a notebook to write down your thoughts the old-fashioned way. (Real overachievers can print these pages if they want, but let’s be real — who even owns a printer these days?) In completing these daily reflections from Sept. 23 through Oct. 2, we hope you’ll see the past year — and your vision for this coming year — a bit more clearly.
Think of this as your 5786 dream journal, a Pinterest board for your innermost thoughts. Give yourself the space to dig deep. Get contemplative AF! Are you ready? Let’s go.
