Why Are All Our Favorite Jewish ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Couples Breaking Up?!

We wish David Isaacman, Abbey Romeo, Pari Kim and Tina Zhu Xi Caruso the absolute best.

It’s been a tough few weeks for fans of “Love on the Spectrum.” During and following the release of season four, three couples who met on the Netflix reality show announced their breakups. Couples Connor Tomlinson and Georgie Harris, Pari Kim and Tina Zhu Xi Caruso and fan favorites David Isaacman and Abbey Romeo have all amicably decided to go their separate ways.

This means that two of our favorite Jewish and interfaith “Love on the Spectrum” couples are breaking up. To which I say: Why?!??

Abbey and David confirmed their break-up to PEOPLE on April 10, 2026, after meeting on the first season of “Love on the Spectrum.” The show captured the vast majority of their relationship, from their first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to their season two trip to Kenya to Abbey’s beautiful song for David “Boyfriend Forever” in season three. Outside of the show, David, who is Jewish, shared in an interview with Hey Alma from last spring that he had even introduced Abbey to Hanukkah, a holiday he celebrates with his whole family.

Then, in season four of “Love on the Spectrum,” Abbey expressed interest in getting engaged. “Hopefully we’re next,” she exclaimed, upon finding out that castmates Madison Marilla and Tyler White were engaged. “Yes, we can only be engaged whenever the time is right. Besides, I love you to infinity and beyond,” David responded.

It wasn’t to be, however. “Abbey and David spent four and a half years together and truly value the time they shared and each other,” Abbey, David and their families explained in the statement to PEOPLE. “At this point, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but they remain friends wishing each other the best.”

Then, this past weekend, Pari Kim and Tina Zhu Xi Caruso, who first started dating in season three after bonding over their shared Jewish heritage, both took to Instagram to announce they were no longer together. In a series of Instagram stories, Pari responded to fan questions about her relationship status, saying that she and Tina were now “just friends.” “Two trains on different tracks, but / wish her the best and a bright, T-riffic future! 😊,” she explained. Later, Pari extended the metaphor in an Instagram post: “Trains come and go to all different destinations. Some may come into each other’s routes and stations then diverge and go their own separate ways just like MBTA Commuter Rail and Amtrak. And that is okay.”

She added, “The purple will continue to sparkle unapologetically and the blue will continue to show up fiercely and proudly. They both make a good team but can also shine on their own as two individuals.”

For her part, Tina shared her own Instagram post. “It’s mutual. @purpleprincesspari and I have split up. We’re just friends now.”

Ultimately, as sad as it is to see these couples we’ve grown to love break up, this also serves as a reminder that it’s healthy for partners to realize they want different things in life or work better as friends. Ending things when a relationship has run its course is hard, but it’s also… just a part of life. Other reality show stars who continue dating way past their relationship’s expiration date or who break-up in the most dramatic, public ways possible should seriously take notes from the “Love on the Spectrum” cast.

So on that note, we here at Hey Alma wish David, Abbey, Pari, Tina, Connor and Georgie the absolute best in life and on their continued journeys to find the one.
