While the state of the world is well, uh, not good right now, there’s one place you can reliably look towards for some joy: Robby Hoffman and Gabby Windey. Over the last year and a half, Robby and Gabby have become something of a niche celebrity It Couple, unabashedly sharing their love for one another at almost every opportunity. At the same time, Gabby has become the breakout star of “The Traitors” season three and Robby, a former Hasidic Jewish comedian, has continued to be a force in the comedy world with her blunt, abrasive style.
And now, Robby and Gabby, or should I say Mrs. and Mrs. It Couple, have gifted us the best news. This morning, they announced that they were secretly married in January!!
The pair shared separate Instagram carousels today with photos and videos from their Jan. 11 Las Vegas wedding. Robby wore a white button-down and black dress pants, while Gabby wore a lacy, tight long-sleeve gown with satin over the bodice and hips. Gabby walked down the aisle, rose bouquet in tow, to “HOT TO GO” by Chappell Roan.
After the ceremony, Robby stomped on the glass as is customary at Jewish weddings. “It represents the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash and the fragility of marriage and how important it is to protect it,” Robby explains in the video, before breaking the glass. She then breaks out in “Siman Tov u’Mazel Tov” to clapping and whooping from Gabby and others.
The post also shares that Robby proposed to Gabby via a custom crossword puzzle.
This wedding announcement comes about a year-and-a-half after Robby and Gabby first publicly announced that they were dating in August 2023. The announcement also served as Gabby’s coming out. Just before they met, Gabby had starred on a season of “The Bachelorette.” Though she ultimately got engaged to contestant Erich Schwer, they broke things off a few months after the show ended. “I always just want to live my truth, and my story,” Windey said on “The View” the same day she announced she was dating Robby. She added, “I think [being queer] was always a whisper in me that just got louder and louder, and I didn’t really know to pay attention to it.”
Though Gabby herself is not Jewish, throughout her relationship with Robby she has expressed interested in converting. On a 2023 episode of Bethenny Frankel’s podcast, Gabby said she would convert to Judaism if she and Robby were to get married. “She’s desperate to convert,” Robby jokingly said at the time. “She’s so into it.” More recently, Gabby shared that Robby gave her a Shema prayer card to take with her to Scotland during filming of “The Traitors.” “She was the only thing really that got me through. She sent me off with this Jewish prayer card, and it starts out with calling in the Lord. And I said it every night just to feel connected to her and to obviously pray for success,” Gabby told Interview Magazine a few weeks ago.
Awww! Mazel tov, Robby and Gabby!
